Aloha Wailea Ekahi Homeowners,
Spring Break is in full swing at Ekahi with lots of families around enjoying themselves and a few owners still here escaping the cold back home. It seems like I’m saying goodbye to an owner almost every day now and as I have grown to know more and more of you, it saddens me to see you leave. The talk story in the mail room, and around property, is one of my favorite parts about working here.
As we move into the shoulder season, we will look at completing the work orders already received and painting some of your stairways and railings. Surface solutions will be back this year for more of the cement work that removes chipped paint and brings our walkways back to near original condition. We are planning to remove some of the small rock medians in our parking lots and add cement curbing in those areas to get ahead of our asphalt resurfacing project coming up in the next couple years. There will be spall and cement work on a few more stairwell landings that are showing cracking, and we have Maui Light House underway replacing house panels in our utility closets and changing out the sub-meter breakers.
We have ordered 2 new barbecues to replace the charcoal grill at our Pavilion so we can offer 4 barbecues at that location. The new barbecues are smaller, 2 burner propane grills, and we will need replace the cracked counter and make some minor modifications to that island. A new Accucold ice and water machine has also been ordered to replace the dispenser that is no longer working. This machine has a larger spill tray, and a single dispensing mechanism, and seems better suited for that busy environment.
