Aloha Wailea Ekahi Homeowners,
The first week of our paving project was a success! We had full cooperation from all owners parked in our main driveway area, and guests were accommodating as well. I was anxiously watching the weather all week, and so far, we are out of the way with weather that could cause delays and schedule changes. This week, the crews’ efforts shift to Phase 3 while we tackle parking lots 47-54 Monday through Wednesday and move to 45-46 Thursday and Friday. Parking lots 36-44 will close Thursday night at 5 PM, and won’t reopen until Wednesday September 4th. Please refer back to the attached schedule with questions. I will only e-blast parking updates if the schedule changes.
Dryer vent cleaning starts next week so please make sure your door codes are current, and guests are informed. It’s important to clear the laundry area of any equipment or stored items if you want your duct hose inspected. If we can’t easily access that area, we recommend you conduct a thorough inspection of your dryer’s vent duct hose for kinks or clogs. A member of our team will be entering the condo with the vendor and will conduct a test of your smoke detector. I participated in this exercise last year for a full day to learn how the provider conducts the services. Guests were actively using the laundry machines, and a couple were startled by our smoke detector test. Please refer to the attached schedule, and make sure your agents, housekeepers and guests are aware of the upcoming services.
On Friday September 27th, we will change the codes for our fitness center, and all pool and beach gates. The new code for the pool is C1023 and the fitness center will be C7182.
Our coconut trees were all trimmed this week, we managed to get a new fence installed by the landscape shop yard and install all 5 of our new surveillance cameras. The additional coverage includes the beach gate, full pavilion area, maintenance shop yard, landscape storage and landscape shop yard. Advanced technology gives our managers the ability to monitor these devices from an app on our mobile phones.
Our 2024-2025 security contract with MEPPS was renewed, and effective August 1, we scaled back to a single guard shift with roving patrol overnight. There is a guard on site from 3:30-11:30 PM daily, and then our security phone is monitored by the roving patrol guard until we arrive at 7:30 AM. As a reminder, that phone number to report water intrusion, house rule violations, and other security concerns is 808-280-7198.
Up at the Wailea Fairway Shops near Mannoli’s, there are a couple new hot spots open for your drinking and dining pleasure. Kohala Brewery relocated from Lahaina and opened about 2 weeks ago with their locally brewed beers. Nikkei relocated from Paia, and recently opened with a creative and imaginative sushi menu. With Spoon and Key serving delicious food, and Tikehau providing vibrant cocktails and unique pupu’s, it’s exciting to see the surge of growth that will attract more tourists to the Wailea area.
Our AOAO offices, landscape shop, and maintenance area will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday September 2.
