Our beach right in front could use some more sand, but we have noticed the elevation at the bottom of our beach steps improving every day now. Keawakapu Beach walks from end to end may still be met with some rocky obstacles. South Kihei road is open, but there are a few sections with contra-flow and barricades as crews continue to make repairs.

Hop on down to the Beach Pavilion on April 4th to celebrate some Easter festivities hosted by our Social Committee! This annual event takes place from 10 AM – 12 PM and includes games, snacks and prizes. We will be posting the attached flyer at all the buildings next week to remind your guests to come join the fun.

Monday April 6th, we will broadcast the NCAA men’s final basketball game on the TV at the Pavilion. We don’t know who is qualified for the final four yet but tip off will be 2:30 HST. Signs will be placed in the area so folks that might like to watch have some advanced notice.

This week we completed the installation of the new digital analog BBQ grills at the outer sites, 1-4 and Greenbelt. Operating these newer electric grills should be more convenient for your guests, and we always encourage you to try them out and offer us your feedback. For direct communication with our Board Vice President, and Chair of the Pavilion, Pools and Recreation Committee, you can send Dr David Berman an email at pavilion@waileaekahi.org. This is an active committee that usually meets monthly.

The newly updated 2026-2027 Ekahi Committee list has been updated, and is available on our website along with the 2026-2027 Board directory. The minutes of the Annual General meeting are posted and include detailed written reports from the miscellaneous committees. I ask that you take the time to review this important information and have provided the attachments for your added convenience.

You can also link here:

https://waileaekahi.com

Building 16 painting was on hold for a few days because of the stormy weather, and we were all monitoring closely to communicate any make-up days we may need to those affected. H painting doubled the size of their crew this week, and we were able to open the building on schedule to welcome service providers, owners and guests. There is still finish work taking place at building 16, and we have signs posted in case the painters’ erect ladders during the day when visitors are home. Tuesday, our local expert from Sherwin Williams came down to inspect the application of the paint, and reported he is satisfied with the results.

This recent bout of weather stressed the importance of keeping the applicable make-up period blocked in conjunction with your building’s painting schedule.

Ekahi’s pickleball court is scheduled for crack repairs and resurfacing this year. This work has been scheduled in May with All Sports Hawaii, so the court will be closed the week of May 11-15th, and Monday-Tuesday May 18-19. Our court is usually active, so please distribute this information to your guests and agents so they can advise about other nearby courts open to the public.

If you need to check dates for pest control, termite inspections, painting, and other work that impacts Ekahi, please check our events calendar page on the owner’s website. Evelyn does an excellent job of keeping this tool updated for your reference.

https://waileaekahi.com/owners/calendar.php

Effective 4/10/26, the new code for all pools, beach gate access & our pickleball gates will be C1932. The Fitness Center code will be C4106. Please update your guest arrival information. Our Beach Pavilion is a common area that can no longer be rented or used for large gatherings, and guests cannot invite vendors, musicians or outside guests. We appreciate your help in enforcing this policy.

Our AOAO offices and maintenance shop will be closed on Good Friday, April 3rd in observance of the Easter holiday.

If you haven’t had a chance to see The Mousetrap at Ia’o Theatre being presented by Maui on Stage, there are tickets available through April 12, and it’s a fantastic Agatha Christie murder mystery. The Naylor is now selling tickets for Disney’s Frozen, presented by Maui Academy for Performing Arts. Don’t miss the opportunity to see a Broadway musical at our new state-of-the-art box theater in downtown Wailuku. If you want to enjoy a fun evening while you support local arts and visit Wailuku, The Parlay is a lively sports bar with a delicious and efficient kitchen on Main Street, and my favorite daiquiris are expertly poured at Ester’s Fair Prospect a few doors down. Ester’s just did a remodel and is launching a new menu this Friday as Sidedoor Kitchen welcomes Chef Rob Ramshur’s culinary magic to Wailuku town! Record Store Day is rapidly approaching, and vinyl enthusiasts should help support our local and independent record stores on April 18th. You’ll find George and I at Request Music on Market Street lining up early for a couple of special releases we hope to get our hands on.

We had about 16 water intrusion reports during the Kona low storm systems with heavy rainfall, and we are still tracking as housekeepers and occupants are just arriving at units this week that may have moisture inside. As owners were attempting weekend and after-hours communications with their neighbors to alert them of potential damage, it became apparent again that our owner contact list on the website is missing a lot of your information. This makes it difficult to send a text or call to your neighbor in an emergency that needs immediate attention. I urge you all to please ‘opt-in’ to this email list, so you don’t miss an opportunity to solve a problem, before it potentially becomes an expensive insurance claim. Please check the link below and make sure your preferred contact information is listed.

https://waileaekahi.com/owners/resources.php#ownerlist

Aloha Wailea Ekahi Homeowners, Sunny skies have graced our shoreline again, and the ocean is starting to clear up.
